Healing home away from home by the sea in Korea!

My 3rd time staying here and just like previous stays I had a wonderful time! Without a doubt one of my top 3 favourite guesthouses in Korea (and I've travelled all over the country). The guesthouse has a very homely and relaxing feel and breakfast is traditional Korean style and so so delicious (different side dishes every day). You can stroll to the nearby beach for an afternoon walk and buses to get you around to see the main attractions in Gangreung are pretty frequent. The couple running the place are so helpful and generous with their time and suggestions for things to see, eat and do that I cannot recommend this place enough, especially if you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind. Even though the shower room is shared, there are partitions between each shower head and honestly over 5 nights I only had to share the shower room with another guest once and even then only for all of 3 minutes!

I fell in love with this guesthouse.

I fell in love with this guesthouse. They're welcomed us and provided a dinner. Very helpful and I'm impressed with their effort to speak in Malay Language. The room was clean and worth to stay, overall was great.

Everything was AMAZING only thing was that no more than 1...

Everything was AMAZING only thing was that no more than 1 towel per night so we needed to use our own towels for the next day morning. Except for that the staff was lovely the rooms amazingly clean and the place was like 3 min walk from a cute Spanish restaurant and tofu village where they have amazing food. Plus the beach was like 10 min walk away. I also enjoyed the coffee museum that was just around the corner ~~

It was super clean and really close to the Tofu Village as...

It was super clean and really close to the Tofu Village as well as within walking distance of Gyeongpo beach. The rooms were also very private and spacious.

The staff was kind but not very interactive with guests. That was ok for my friend and I though.

Overall, it was quite decent to stay for a night.

Overall, it was quite decent to stay for a night. Location was the best part of this guesthouse for the people who wanna get into a beach cause it just takes 10mins by walk. And room was super clean.

Staffs are somehow picky and strict.

So cozy and family-like place.

So cozy and family-like place. Local food for breakfast. Quiet at night and very clean. Hosts speak very little English, but they are so welcoming and eager to help that language barrier does not matter. We had to leave early in the morning and I asked for a taxi the evening before, but the owner gave us a ride on his own car and of course refused to take any money.

The only thing I would add - some hoods on the walls in the room. There is no place to hang the clothes.

More a homestay than a guesthouse :-)

Really quiet place (if you don't pay attention to the work in progress just near), beautiful, and not far from the beach and Gyeongpo lake. The hosts speak basic English and are really nice and helpful. Korean homecooked breakfast and fresh coffee are delicious, we have even been invited to eat lunch and dinner some times. The dorm beds are comfy, there is a personal light and shelves, even a small locker (inside the stairs). Everything is super clean, the only thing might be a lack of intimacy in the shower room (it's a long curtain for the 3 showers, so you may be seen by the other ones...). There is also a huge covered terrace with table, chairs and hammock. Definitely a good place to stay

Some guests were disrespectful and made a lot of noise until very late just in front of the dormitory window. The girl also woke us up starting from midnight to 3AM because she knocked (like crazy) on the door to be opened...but the door was not locked at all!!! The kitchen cannot be used (because it's the family one, which is understandable), but you can use the microwave and kitchenwares. The other side of being quiet, outside the center, is that you have to walk a bit to go everywhere.

Hosts are fabulous

The hosts are absolutely fabulous : they smile, speak a little bit English, they try to make you confortable and give you informations about what’s nearby. The guesthouse is near the beach and the bus and not far of a beautiful pine park with access to the lake. I’ve seen in the other comments that the showers are not good well in my opinion it is not true ! There is a curtain and I think that’s enough, as people are not here to watch you during your shower...

Value for money. Authentic and relaxing stay

The room was very clean and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and helpful.

The bathroom didn't equipped with heater. Therefore bathing during cold weather is crazily cold. You need to be very fast with the water flow not too strong, it's a challenging task

춥다고하니 보일러를 그때서 틑어주더구요.ㅠ 추워이불을 두르고있었고요.ㅠ 여자화장실이 1층 무지 불편해고 새벽에 내려갈때는 마루가소리가나서 신경쓰였습니다.

가장 가까운 편의점이 600미터 떨어져 있어 미리 장을 봐 왔더라면 좋았을것이라는 아쉬움이 남네요. 순두부를 싫어 하는 사람들에게는 근처에 마땅한 식당이 없습니다. 쭈꾸미 집이 있는데 가성비는 별로. 방 사이 벽이 가벽이라 방음이 잘 되지 않습니다.

원래 게스트 하우스는 겨울에 많이 추운데, 소나무 정원 게스트 하우스는 그런데 비해 덥다고, 업주분 말씀 하시네요... 엄청 추웠는데 주인분은 "우리집은 춥지 않은 집입니다" 라고 다음날 추워서 바닥 깔게랑 이불 하나더 달라고 요청 했는데, 떨떠름 하게 이불 주시네요. . 개인적 마인드 대단하신듯......

직접 운영하시는 가정집에서 조용히 쉴 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 위치도 해변이랑 가깝고 주변에 초당동 맛집도 가까워서 편했습니다.

가정집이 부담스러운 분들은 불편할 수도 있을 것 같다는 생각을 했습니다. 시끄럽게 노는 분위기는 아니었던 것 같습니다.
